Virus scan
My Norton/Symantec Virus scan checks 3.0.9, declares it not safe and eliminates the download automatically. Any idea ?

Re: Virus scan
I did a full scan of my Windows development VM with Norton (including a copy of the installer downloaded from contextfreeart.org). The scan came up with nothing. Can you do a full scan of your system?
Re: Virus scan
As a result of some research I found out that I am possibly a too much early bird with installing 3.0.9 as Symantec is using a reputation based system for new software scanning with a quote wisdom of crowd filter unquote. As the crowd is too small yet with the downloaded 3.0.9 version the file gets automatically eliminated. One way could be you to go for a quote Symantic white-listing unquote. My option in the meantime is to wait for sufficiently others having installed 3.0.9 hoping without encountering this Symantec based filter issue, and in the meantime me to re-install 3.0.8 for which the crowd in the past was obviously sufficiently big enough.

Re: Virus scan
I submitted a whitelist request here. Would you go to the same URL and submit a false-positive report? Thanks.
Re: Virus scan
Sorry, but if I open your mentioned quote here unquote just the contextfreeart Website opens.
Is this correct ? I'm possibly less PC advanced than (you) assumed.

Re: Virus scan
Symantec got back to me. Try updating your virus signatures and see if the installer will download.
Re: Virus scan
Virus machine updating done. Now the Symantec message is quote Suspicious.Cloud.9 unquote followed by automatic file elimination.

Re: Virus scan
I have scanned my system and the installer using Norton, so I think it's OK. Suspicious.Cloud.9 must be false triggering. You could turn Norton off, install Context Free, and turn it back on again.
Re: Virus scan
As checked today, the Symantec virus scan calls 3.0.9 Version as safe.

Re: Virus scan
Great. Thanks for your help.
Re: Virus scan
Unfortunately I am not there yet. When trying to open the now installed 3.0.9 I get an error message saying that quote MSVCP140.dll unquote is missing whereas I don't get such an error message when re-installing/opening former 3.0.8 - any idea or advice ? I work with Windows 7/64.

Re: Virus scan
The installer include 5 EXE files and 8 DLLs. Four of the EXEs are Context Free graphical and command line versions (32 and 64 bit). The fifth EXE is another installer that comes from Microsoft. It installs the Visual Studio 2015 universal runtime, which includes MSVCP140.dll. So when you run the Context Free 3.0.9 installer there should be a pop-up window for this Microsoft installer, which you should allow to do its thing. Try re-installing Context Free to get it to re-install the runtime.
